Paris – The Administrator Behind Dread

By 2018, the darknet community had lost many of the places where users gathered to exchange information.

Several darknet-related communities had disappeared from Reddit, DeepDotWeb would soon be taken offline, and reliable sources of information were becoming increasingly scarce.

That's when Hugbunter launched Dread.

Designed as a Reddit-style discussion forum running entirely over Tor, Dread quickly became a place where vendors, buyers, researchers and curious newcomers could share information, report scams and discuss everything happening across the darknet.

Some time after Dread's launch, another administrator known as Paris joined the project.

While Hugbunter remained the founder, Paris gradually became one of Dread's most recognizable developers and administrators. Over the years he played an important role in maintaining the forum, improving its infrastructure and helping keep it online during periods of heavy DDoS attacks and technical problems.

As darknet markets came and went, Dread continued to grow.

It evolved into far more than just another forum. For many users, it became the first place to check before trusting a new marketplace, the first place to hear about exit scams, and the first place where major darknet news was discussed.

Today, Dread is widely regarded as one of the most important community platforms ever created on the Tor network, built by Hugbunter and strengthened over the years through the contributions of administrators like Paris.
